Fiona is a transactional lawyer, specialising in Banking & Finance.

Her expertise spans most types of general and structured finance (including structured work-outs, property finance, corporate finance, leveraged & acquisition finance, asset finance, project finance, debt capital markets & securitisation).
​
Fiona has worked on a broad range of transactions (including domestic/cross border transactions, secured/unsecured transactions, bilateral/club/syndicated transactions, private/headline transactions and work-out transactions), ranging in size from nominal amounts to $20 billion.
​
She has acted for all types of foreign & domestic corporates and financial institutions (including borrowers, issuers, lenders, dealers, arrangers, underwriters, syndicates & bidders) spanning the diversified, media, healthcare, property, energy, resources, infrastructure, construction & financial services sectors.
​
Fiona is the Principal of Phillip Street Associates and through the incorporated legal practice holds the position of Managing Counsel on short term contracts to other top tier law firms in their Banking & Finance teams.
​
She started Phillip Street Associates to better meet the needs and expectations of both law firms and senior lawyers who service government, banks and corporations in relation to high-end banking and finance transactions.
Prior to her current role, Fiona spent nearly a decade in the Banking & Finance team at Allens in both their Sydney and Perth offices.

​​Fiona holds a Bachelor of Arts (joint honours in politics & history, minor in mathematics), a Bachelor of Laws (first class honours) and a Master of Commerce (covering banking, finance & business law), all from the University of Sydney.
​
She also holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law and has completed the College of Law's mandatory practice management program for principal lawyers as well as LawCover's recommended risk management programs for legal practices.
​
Fiona is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW, the Federal Court of Australia & the High Court of Australia. She holds a current unrestricted practising certificate as a Principal and is a member of the Law Society of NSW.
